چکیده
Abstract We perform simulation study for a 10-kg $$^{100}$$ 100 Mo-based bolometeric demonstration experiment neutrinoless double-beta decay ( $$0\nu \beta $$ 0 ν β ) search at China JinPing underground Laboratory (CJPL). Cosmogenic production of radionuclides in Mo-enriched lithium molybdate crystals and copper components the detector system are studied using Geant4 toolkit based on simulated cosmic ray data from CRY library. Background energy spectra cosmogenic including $$^{56}$$ 56 Co, $$^{82}$$ 82 Rb $$^{88}$$ 88 Y which harmful investigated. then evaluate total background level Mo region interest (ROI) experiment. After one year cooling down underground, residual contribution is found to be 1.8 $$\times × 10 $$^{-6}$$ - 6 cts/kg/keV/yr 3.3 $$^{-4}$$ 4 components, respectively. Furthermore, activation crystal calculated neutron proton CJPL. The negligible ROI.

Measuring cosmogenic Li background in a reactor neutrino experiment
Cosmogenic isotopes 9Li and 8He produced in the detector are the most problematic background in the reactor neutrino experiments designed to determine precisely the neutrino mixing angle θ13. The average time interval of cosmic-ray muons in the detector is often on the order of the lifetimes of the 9Li and 8He isotopes. We have developed a method for determining this kind of background from the...
متن کاملGamma background measurements in the Boulby Underground Laboratory
To determine background radiation levels that might influence experiments, we measured in situ gamma-ray emissions at ten locations in the Boulby Underground Laboratory. For gamma radiation in the energy range of 7-2,734 keV, the counts varied from 6.5 to 28 γ s-1. For measurements inside the Lab, the arithmetic mean was 24 γ s-1. The sedimentary rocks that surrounded the Lab, halite and mudsto...
متن کاملFirst measurement of low intensity fast neutron background from rock at the Boulby Underground Laboratory
A technique to measure low intensity fast neutron flux has been developed. The design, calibrations, procedure for data analysis and interpretation of the results are discussed in detail. The technique has been applied to measure the neutron background from rock at the Boulby Underground Laboratory, a site used for dark matter and other experiments, requiring shielding from cosmic ray muons. Th...
متن کاملFirst results from dark matter search experiment with LiF bolometer at Kamioka Underground Laboratory
The Tokyo group has performed the first underground dark matter search experiment from 2001 through 2002 at Kamioka Observatory(2700m.w.e). The detector is eight LiF bolometers with a total mass of 168g and aims for the direct detection of WIMPs via spin-dependent interaction. With an exposure of 4.1 kg·days, we derived the limits in the ap−an (WIMP-nucleon couplings) plane and excluded a large...
متن کاملDevelopment of a low background liquid scintillation counter for a shallow underground laboratory.
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has recently opened a shallow underground laboratory intended for measurement of low-concentration levels of radioactive isotopes in samples collected from the environment. The development of a low-background liquid scintillation counter is currently underway to further augment the measurement capabilities within this underground laboratory. Liquid scintill...
